A flat $89 diagnostic fee on repair calls, which is applied to the cost of the repair when you approve the work. Estimates on new equipment are free. There is no trip charge, no mileage fee anywhere inside our 50-mile service area, and no after-hours surcharge added to the diagnostic.

Why we do not publish repair prices
Because we would be guessing, and a guess on a website is not a price. A furnace that will not light might need a $30 flame sensor or a $900 control board. What we can promise, and do, is that you hear the number before we start and it does not change afterwards.
The one price we can publish honestly is the diagnostic, so we publish it prominently: $89.
A word on repair versus replace
A useful rule of thumb: if the repair costs more than a third of a replacement and the unit is past fifteen years old, replacing usually wins on total cost of ownership. Under that, repairing is normally the better financial decision. We will show you both numbers and let you make the call, because it is your money and your house.

How much does JLO charge for a service call?
A flat $89. That covers the trip and the full diagnosis, and it is applied to the cost of the repair when you approve the work. There is no separate trip charge inside our 50-mile service area.
Is the $89 refunded if I go ahead with the repair?
It is credited, which amounts to the same thing. The $89 comes off the repair price when you approve the work, so you are not paying twice for the same visit.
Do you charge more for evenings, weekends or holidays?
The $89 diagnostic is the same at any hour. Labour on an after-hours repair is billed at our after-hours rate, and we tell you that rate on the phone before we dispatch, not afterwards on the invoice.
Are estimates free?
Estimates on new equipment, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps and mini-splits, are free and itemised in writing. The $89 applies only to diagnosing a fault on existing equipment.
Do you charge a mileage fee for rural addresses?
No. Whether you are five minutes away in Rock Creek or forty-five miles out in Moose Lake, the diagnostic is the same $89.
Will I know the price before work starts?
Yes, always. We diagnose the fault, then give you the repair price before touching anything. If the unit is old enough for replacement to be a genuine question, you get both numbers side by side and you decide.
